A LITTLE UPDATE - SUMMER 2013

hi
since my last post, we have had another friend come over from the UK, living in the apartment upstairs which is good, Nick has swapped jobs hopefully to a company that will give him more miles and money, we had to buy a new car (old but new to us) as our steering went, eek !!!, and im sure there's many other things, too many to mention.

Spring and Summer have been a bit more rainy than normal overall but still had some really good weather. In June my son and his girlfriend came over for a month and we all had a trip to New York for 4th July. We all really enjoyed that it was great to finally get to see Times Square, The Statue of Liberty, and the Empire State, not forgetting Ground Zero which was a lovely and peaceful memorial but sad at the same time.  The 20 June was also mine and Jess' 1st year Canniversary !!!

We managed to stay in New Hampshire on the way back from New York for a couple of chill days.  The time flew by when they were over and it was sad they had to go back.

Since then another family with two young boys has arrived over and i hope this is the start of a good friendship,we seem to get along quite well.
We have been on a couple of trips during the summer with the MACC centre, one of them being Kings Landing, which is how they used to live in the 1800s New Brunswick.

Nick and our friend Dave both work for the same company and got the same run to Miami, so we decided that Jess and I would go with them.  I loved it!!!! I think Florida looks like one big holiday resort. We got to pass through North and South Carolina, Virginia and Georgia which were all lovely places.
The icing on the cake though was a few spare hours allowing us to park up and get a cab to Niagra Falls. I have always wanted to visit there. Its not as big as i expected, but it was lovely and well worth a visit. There is loads to do around the area, including fairground, bars, restaurants, shops etc.

In this last couple of weeks i have had a few down times, missing people, and feelings we are never going to get there, but it doesn't last.  I would much rather be in Canada and the life we have now, than in the UK.

Jess is back to school in a couple of weeks so i will try to update more often.
